Avoid a money pit: make a buy-to-let property tax efficient

http://www.telegraph.co.uk

Published 8 months, 2 weeks ago

Bear in mind, though, that while rental income is exempt from VAT, the costs you incur in running a property may well have VAT added. "That includes letting and/or managing agents' fees, service charges and ground rent if the property is in a block of flats, buildings insurance if it's a freehold house, maintenance and repairs during the tenancy - for fair wear and tear, but not 'betterment'.
